Michael,
I understand the situation and I will try my best to help
you. But first, let's review some facts here:
1) You emailed me on 3-7 to ask me send money TLBT raised for
Tu Tu as of that day to you. It was not several weeks ago as you stated in
this emai.
2) I already responded to you in details what need to be done
before a check bigger than $500 can be signed: it needs to be pre-approved
by the Board and signed by two authorized persons. You runs a Non-Profit
organization and you know the procedures. Even if we are good friends, you
don't want me to break the law and end up in jail, do you? And I definitely
don't want to do that even if I really know and understand you.
3) Right now, most of the money TLBT raised for Tu Tu are
still in checks, not deposited in TLBT's account yet. It is the treasurer's
job to deposit checks and he is out on vacation until the end of the month.
After he deposits checks, we still have to wait for them to clear in our
bank. If there are bad checks, I have to reverse those amount on the
list. So I think we are stuck here even though I will try to see if anything
can be done for you.
4) People visited your website and brought to my attention
that the meter on your site showing 15% of $35,000 and you need more to meet
$35,000. Why do you do that when you already knew both TLBT & BSTTW passed
that target? In fact, one or two more days, just TLBT will meet that target
and stop raising fund. So you don't count what TLBT raised for Tu Tu as part
of $35,000 ?
5) Our donors/members want us (TLBT) to make sure that their
donation is used for what it is said (for Tu Tu) and they want to make sure
that they are not being scammed. As I stated in last email and also on our
website, TLBT pledges that we will refund all money to members if it's a
scam. In our next Board meeting, we will discuss (in case it's a scam) how
we will refund the money because as you see on my daily update, we will
probably have to write more than 500 checks and mail them to our members. We
will lose a lot of time and money (printing, mailing, PayPal fee...) in the
refund process.
6) It's up to you to prove that it's not a scam. And of
course, I will try to find out myself.
Minh
